As well as visual art, I am very interested in sound. Althought I don't have much recorded finished work, I enjoy using foley, sequencing patterns from my own samples, and experimenting with FM and subtractive synthesis. I use both analog machines and digital software, and enjoy finding new ways to compose sound and create textures, as well as implementing them within a space; for my Copeland Park installation, I composed binaural collage of my own foley sounds and sound sampled from the internet of sources such as contact microphones used under feet (embedded youtube link). Recently I've been learning to use Sunvox, a modular music software; I like the unconventional use of a tracker to disect samples and the chance for experimentation this allows. I hope to develop technical skills throughout the CCI course that will allow me to engineer my own synths or further my exploration of digital sound.
